A short drive by car will get you to the Padmanabhapuram Palace, the erstwhile palace of the Kingdom of Travancore. Other destinations that are a short drive away include the hill stations of Munnar and Thekkady, Kumarakom lake and backwaters, verdant tropical forests and Kanyakumari, the very tip of the Indian peninsula.
